Yet Another Google Panda Update?
Although Google said that they would not confirm rolling out any Panda updates, are we about to see another Google Panda update? Unlike previous Panda updates, the new Panda update will not have as great of an impact. Matt Cutts has previously stated that the Panda updates will roll out during the course of 10 days to soften the impact webmasters have to face.
One thing you might have noticed, if you check your search key phrases vigorously, is that a specific keyword might have completely vanished for a few hours then came back. Since the Google Panda updates roll out over 10 days, the impact is definitely softer now. Somehow, the websites that are impacted the most are informational sites. Both large, like Wikipedia and about.com, and small websites alike are experiencing rank changes.
Google wants to give authority sites more of a presence in the search results. With that said, Google needs to update their algorithm to determining what is an authoritative site versus a spammy site. Google confirmed the Panda update by stating:
In the last few days we’ve been pushing out a new Panda update that incorporates new signals so it can be more finely targeted.
