Facebook Verified Accounts
Did you like the page of the real Emma Watson? Now, Facebook verified accounts let you know who the real celebrities or brand pages are. This process of verified accounts is similar to Twitter. The process itself is unknown and done internally. Also, like Twitter, Facebook verified accounts have a small blue check. It is similar to the ones you see on Twitter verified accounts. There is no doubt that the Facebook verified accounts status will help to verify which brand or celebrity is the real page. While this is true, brands aren’t necessarily craving for this small blue check mark to appear on their Facebook page.
On May 29, Facebook had this up on the news sections:
Today we’re launching verified Pages to help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook. Verified Pages have a small, blue check mark beside their name on timelines, in search results, and elsewhere on Facebook. Taken from the Facebook Site
The Facebook’s verified account status won’t be available to the everyone. It is only offered to celebrities and other public figures that have large number of fans (“likes”) as well as popular brands and government officials. How do you feel about the implementation of Facebook verified accounts?
