Creating Compelling Content
Monday mornings are sometimes rough, especially when it comes to generating creative content for SEO purposes. In the old days, solely optimizing pages and building links were good enough for your SEO, but it isn’t like that any longer. Now, creating compelling content is king.
The new standard is set so that you must frequently create content that works towards your SEO strategy. The content should be informative as well as being able to captivate the attention of the reader. Google’s quality guidelines should give you the general idea of the do’s and don’ts of content creation.
What Type of Content Do I Create?
By now, everyone probably has heard that it is important to come up with good  quality content, but the problem is that they don’t really know what to create. Every business is different so we can’t necessarily give set guidelines to follow, but in general, the content should be able to match the target demographic and target market you are trying to reach. By having more content, you are allowing a more organic exposure.
Some possible ideas include: great, captivating infographics; information charts and tables; funny, yet educational memes, educational videos, podcasts, etc.
Another great thing to do is to take a look at SEO/keyword tracking software, such as SEMrush, or our favorite SEOMoz, which allow you to measure your website against competitors, and see how well each is doing. By searching your competitors, you are able to do a competitive content analysis by seeing the areas where they do well (and those they aren’t performing so well in).
Hopefully, with these tips, you can better create content that fits your audience’s needs as well as satisfactorily optimizing your SEO strategy. Happy Monday!
